Hello internet! Sorry for the delay in an update on here! I guess it’s been a year since my last post! No time like the present to fill y’all in on the last year!
AUTUMN 2022
So after the release of The Gettin’ Better EP last September, I hit the road for some awesome tour dates in Germany.. One show was at Canada House at Reeperbahn Festival with the full band, and the rest were solo! Was so fun playing for so many nice people in Germany! Kind people, gorgeous country! Can’t wait to go back. Also had a cool interview on CBC Radio Q with Tom Power about “Costco Magazine” getting featured in Costco Connection magazine, and also got to perform/be interview on RadioEins in Berlin while on tour. Thankful for the tour and thankful for all the support!
After tour, I got really burnt out. II find ‘doing music” (admin, booking, etc) while working a 9-5 day job and then coming home and doing the same things that I do in my day job for a few hours really exhausting. I took some time to recover after what was a really great release. I’m proud of it!
WINTER/SPRING 2023
After a bit of a break, I finally started writing new songs! Writing and performing are my two favourite things about “doing music”, and I really enjoyed hanging out and trying to make some cool new art in the winter and spring!
SUMMER 2023
Summertime was bananas!!! Played some really nice acoustic shows in Winnipeg, Regina, and Toronto with some great new and old friends. Then, the band and I were so thankful to have been asked to share some songs at some of my favourite festivals in Saskatchewan this year. We performed a very dreamy outdoor set on the Prairie Sun Brewery patio as a part of Saskatchewan Jazz Festival in Saskatoon, survived the heat and tornado warnings at Gateway Festival in Bengough, and finished the summer festival season with some really special sets as a part of the Regina Folk Festival in August. The shows were so fun, and we really appreciated getting to be a part of these events! I also played a number of local summer patio/yard shows to raise some money for Girls Rock Regina. Thanks to everyone for asking me to play for your family, neighbours, plants, and dogs!
FALL 2023 AND BEYOND…
Well where do we go from here? Will you get another blog update in under a calendar year? Will we release new music? Will Goku find the remaining dragon balls? Tune in next week for another episode of Dragonball Z
JK, sorry if that joke was very niche and lame. The plan is to lay low and keep writing and demoing throughout the winter. Super excited to start work-shopping and performing new songs for everyone. Before we hibernate for the winter, I’m super excited that I get to go play some songs at BreakOut West in Kelowna! Big thank you to Creative Saskatchewan for their support!
ALSO, the full band will be opening for The Watchmen at Casino Regina as part of The Wolf’s Halloween Howl! Will be so fun! OK TYSM for listening to my update. See everyone around!! :)
